Meet the Artist

Donald Woods will be our artist of the months this Wednesday at 7:30 at the Brunswick City Hall.
4095 Center Road
free

Don grew up in Akron and was torn between his love of playing the violin and painting. He received many art awards while in H.S. and studied art at Akron Univ. After graduating, he worked in sales and management for over 20 years before returning to college to obtain his license in teaching art. He was hired by Lorain schools and began playing violin and painting again.

He now concentrates on painting birds and "showing the beauty and wonder of God's creations." His dream is to become a professional artist.

Come join in and hear about his work and style and be able to ask the artist himself any questions you like.

Thursday Night Critique Group

We had a lovely evening on a cold and rainy night. Our meeting was after our horrible historical storm Sandy and it was a nice reprieve. Some people were not there and we hope that everything is fine with them and family. We hope that all is fine with all our readers and their families.

Monday Morning Critique Group Meeting

The Monday morning group met at the Brunswick library this month. We had an excellent conversation about our art projects. We discussed everything from color temperatures, depth of field and all the other usual  considerations we have in a work of art. One person in our group, Dave, is very good at showing that cropping often helps and sometimes even creates two works of art. We always see different points of view and perhaps something that hadn't even come to mind when we had looked at our own work for so long.

We had a breezy, beautiful warm summer meeting at Lee and Bill's house today. We shared thoughts about each work and also directions that we could go in. It was very inspiring. We hope that you too can join us at either the morning or evening critique groups.
