CHARLES BASHAM ALL-MEDIA LANDSCAPE PAINTING WORKSHOP

When:  Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Where:  North Park, off Grafton Road, Brunswick
Who:  Ages 21 and above,
Cost:  BAW members:  $30, non-members: $35
(you may join at this time to receive the lower rate, membership is $25.00)

The purpose of this class is multi-fold: to paint from the landscape as a means of investigating exterior space, color and light; to incorporate into these paintings your comprehensive understanding of art historical styles; and to develop a contemporaneous manner in utilizing the landscape motif within your own work. In the first case, you should develop an understanding and appreciation of space, light, color and tone by painting the landscape from life and becoming fluent in recording natural phenomena through observation. Secondly, by looking at paintings and reading about them, you can utilize ideas behind them that can inform your own work.  Bring a lunch!   In case of rain, participants will be directed to an alternate site.  Feel free to bring the supplies you usually work with, or use the suggested supply list below if you wish.  For additional information, call Julie Zabkar at 330-741-9362

Sharon Borror, President of Medina County Art League, and Barbara Johns, former President of Medina County art league will be presenting an informative round-table discussion on the ins and outs of matting and framing.

Many exhibits have strict guidelines, and knowing how to properly present your work may make the difference between being accepted into a show or not, and/or whether you receive an award.

But, even if you are not an artist, you probably have artwork in your home.  Sharon and Barbara will also discuss how to mat and frame your personal artwork to enhance your home.
